The hoard of American coins that was uncovered in the back garden of a Hackney home in 2007, decades after being buried, is being auctioned at Sotheby's, bar one.

The coins were uncovered in a jar in a Hackney garden
Owner, Max Sulzbacher - the son of the original owner of the coins - has donated one example of the $20 "Double-Eagle" treasures to Hackney Museum, in memory of his family.
The coin will be accompanied by the jar the hoard was discovered in, and a 1940s British penny that was excavated alongside it. The display will open to the public next Tuesday (29th November) and opening times for Hackney Museum can be found on the Hackney Council website.
