Recycling scheme for the disposal of small electric items in Stoke Newington

WEEE banks are the rather uncatchy name of Stokey's new recycling points for small electicals. Being launched all over the place, N16 has got itself two of the disposal units, which are targeted at broken items such as remote controls, phone chargers and hairdryers.
There is one in the carpark of Morrisons supermarket, and one on Lordship Road, between Lordship Terrace and Lordship Grove and they are the convenient green-option for those little things that don't need a formal collection from Hackney Council.
A more comprehensive list of electronic items welcomed at the banks include:
Hairdryers
Electrical Chargers
Digiboxes
Small DIY tools
Kettles
Small kitchen appliances
Phones
Radios
CD Players
Remote Controls
Shavers
Irons
Electric Toothbrushes
Electronic Toys
VCRs
The dimensions of the opening on the collection points are 28cm x 23cm, so anything within this range can be disposed of. For anything bigger, the Council still require you to use the Bulky Waste service.
