Snow in Stoke Newington and the rest of London forecast this week

The winter weather is properly kicking in in London and Stoke Newington this week, it seems. We may not have got our wish of a white Christmas (just me?) but we will get a taste of snow to start February 2012 off nicely.

Not much mind, but according to the Met Office Hackney and the rest of the Capital will see snow showers on Thursday daytime and again on Saturday night. So if you're planning to go out in Stokey this weekend then wrap up warm and make the most of our postcode's plentiful selection of pubs and restaurants with log fires (think Luigi's, Rose and Crown, The Lion, Yucatan); and if you're staying in to avoid the frost-bitten look then you might want to make sure your boiler's in good shape.

The rest of the week is going to be chilly with temperatures predicted to be between -3 and 2 degrees celcius across the city.
