At a Safer Neighbourhoods meeting last night, local police warned of fraud being carried out on ATMs in Stoke Newington and Stamford Hill.

Criminals are targeting cash machines in Stoke Newington and Stamford Hill to commit fraud
Having previously targeted the cash machine at Barclays on Stamford Hill Broadway, the crooks have now moved further up the High Street and there have been reports of hits at the ATM outside Morrisons.
Using what's referred to as a 'Lebanese Loop', the fraudsters can clone credit and debit cards inserted at cash points. Police advise that if the card slot of any ATM feels loose or wobbly, it is worth avoiding and reporting.
If anyone has been unlucky enough to have fallen victim to this in the the area, please let us know or report it to the New River Safer Neighbourhoods Team on: 020 8721 2904 / 07884 117298, or on the new national non-emergency crime number: 101.
