Another teen stabbed in Stoke Newington in 2011

Well it's not been a good start to the year in N16 when it comes to teenage violence. After the figures for fatalities dropped in 2010, the trend for armed attacks on youths seems to be going strong. A 14 year-old boy was stabbed in his limbs six times in an assault that took place on Bethune Road, Stamford Hill this Wednesday. Thankfully the injuries are not life threatening and he is recovering in hospital.

The "Safer Streets" campaign in Stoke Newington has plenty of work on its hands in 2011 as teenage assaults continue
This follows a series of incidents so far this year in the Stoke Newington area, including the serious stabbing of two teens on Stoke Newington High Street at the start of the month, a stabbing on Friday night near Highbury New Park involving teenagers, and the murder of a 15 year-old school boy and the injury of his three friends in Tottenham last week. Is it just me, or is this surprisingly high even by Hackney standards?

The problem's only gonna get worse around Stoke Newington until there is a more militant cull on weapons. If there are no weapons there can be no injuries. Or we sterilise every human unfit to bare children - plenty of those around here - if we're feeling suitably facist.
