Hi,
My name is Gemma Wilson and I'm the Area Volunteer Manager for Cancer Research UK North London.
I'm forming a fundraising group in the Stoke Newington area to put on events and fundraisers in aid of Cancer Research UK throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to work towards a great cause and meet like minded people. At no point will you be asked to donate any money, we just ask for a little of your time, and how much time you put in is entirely up to you.
The kind of fundraising activities to organise is open to discussion - anything from a summer ball to a tea party to a sponsored dog walk! And you can expect my full support in whatever events you put on throughout the year. The fundraising target for the group is £8k throughout the year- this may sound like quite a lot, but with a little hard work and the support of the public we could easily beat our target.
Fundraising groups are so important as we are not funded by the government, the life saving work we do is completely supported by people like yourselves.
If you're interested in being part of this exciting project, there's an initial meeting next week - it will be a chance for us to get together and talk about the project further and what next steps might need to be taken to make the fundraising group a reality. You are welcome to bring any friends and family along that may be interested also the more the merrier!
The meeting is on 5th December at 7pm, if you're interested in coming along please email me at gemma.wilson@cancer.org.uk or call me on 07918 641 477 and I will send you the full details - and if you're interested but can't attend on the 5th, you can still send me an email and I'll keep you informed.
Thanks,
Gemma
