What's happening with The Lion?
It seems to have been closed for ages.

It's being refurbished and is due to re-open soon.
According to commenters at Beer in the Evening (tinyurl.com/yl3pqu9) it's been bought out by the owners of the Three Crowns down the road and will re-open with a slightly different vibe.
I found this a good place to watch football though it could get massively overcrowded.
One to avoid during the World Cup, for that reason alone.

Yes you're right the Lion has been bought by the Three Crown's owners. I'm trying to find out more so will let you know as soon as I do
