Thank you for your email; I was terribly sorry to read that the ticket
office at Rectory Road station was closed when you visited it recently.
I can imagine how annoyed you must have been as I appreciate that customers
need to simply purchase a ticket; many also require advice and assistance.
Unfortunately, staff shortages can occur when staff are absent owing to
sickness (for example) and we are unable to reach anyone with enough notice
to cover the relevant shifts. We will always try everything possible to
avoid closing a ticket office early and I am very sorry for the
inconvenience you were caused on this occasion.
