February looks glorious, former Bright Lights Harry Harris and Rebecca Zoe will be gracing the stage again, fresh from supporting Dry The River last year is Big Fin and lucky for us Beth Rowley will be testing out some new songs in our intimate little venue before some huge gigs later in the year!
'Tether' is the debut EP by Big Fin, the principle musical vehicle for Matthew Reynolds. An incredibly prolific songwriter (rumoured to have written over 250 songs), the songs that make up 'Tether' have been taken from a wealth of material recorded in 2012 after years working behind the scenes as a guitar teacher, producer and guitar tech. Big Fin also recently supported Dry The River on their UK tour.
A very special guest joining the Bright Lights line up! Beth will be testing out some new songs as well as a few old ones before some huge gigs later in the year. Hailing from Bristol, Beth Rowley is known for her rich soulful voice and love of Blues and Gospel. Following the huge success of her UK top 10 album ‘Little Dreamer’ in 2008, for which she was nominated a Brit Award, she’s now back after working on her much anticipated second album.
The period since ‘Little Dreamer’ has also seen Beth’s film debut with the release of Oscar nominated Brit flick ‘An Education’, starring Carey Mulligan and directed by Danish director Lone Scherfig. Beth’s cameo role as the nightclub singer received rave reviews as did her theme song ‘You Got Me Wrapped Around Your Little Finger' written with collaborator Ben Castle.
Harry Harris began writing and recording with a Tascam 8-track, a learning copy of Logic and a Myspace account at the age of 16. The subsequent EP, rough around the edges though it was, caught the attention of singer/songwriter Polly Paulusma, and together they recorded a full length album in February 2007.
Now Harry Harris is back with a rotating gallery of musicians in tow and a brand new record - "Songs About Other People" - recorded over 3 days in Soup Studios, London. An FA cup hero, a lost pilot whale and Elvis Presley all feature in this collection of tales, inspired by writers such as Warren Zevon, Craig Finn and Richard Yates.
Rebecca Zoe is a singer-songwriter-actress-adventurer from London, UK. She recently opened for New York artist Charlene Kaye (opening act for internet sensation Team StarKid and longtime collaborator with Glee’s Darren Criss) on her first mini UK tour, and having picked up momentum and gained a few fans along the way she is ready to break into the London music scene. She also made her US debut this year, playing at The Mint in Los Angeles
