Our very own literary festival is back for another year

The Stoke Newington Literary festival organisers have announced the dates for the 2011 event after the roaring success of this years festival in which the like of politician Tony Benn and comedians Shappi Khorsandi and Stewart Lee talk about their work.

From June 3 to June 5 various bookshops and other venues will host an array of events celebrating the long respected tradition of creativity that makes Stoke Newington the place to be.

Another piece of exciting news will be the introduction of the newly refurbished Stoke Newington Town Hall Assembly Rooms being added to the least of venues, which also include Stoke Newington Library and various public houses in the neighbourhood.

Residents are invited to register their interest via the festival website for advance notice of ticket sales and priority booking.

And organisers will also be looking for volunteers to help with preparation and stewarding over the weekend.

    I thought I wasn't a big fan of this festival, but it was actually really good. Gutted I missed Tony Benn, I love that bloke
