At 5pm a strike by London Underground staff began all around London and I'm guessing it is going to make life a bit hellish for some of you travelling home this evening.I'm glad I'm only getting the 341, although that is likely to be very cramped.

Millions of Londoners hit the streets
The strike is set to continue until 9pm tomorrow (Tuesday) but to combat the disruption London Mayor Boris Johnson has put on an extra 100 buses, 100,000 boat rides, marshalled taxi ranks as well extra provision for cyclists using the Barclay's Cycle Hire Scheme.
It is estimated that three million people could be affected by the strike by workers. The Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) and the Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) unions are fighting plans to cut 800 ticket office staffing jobs.
