A nice good british pub, really homely and also could imagine would be nice in the winter. The food looked amazing huge sunday roasts. Will deff have to try them out when I go back!

We sat down with a friend for a nice saturday afternoon girlie chat, in front of the open fire and disclosed the fresh gossip in a friendly, cozy atmosphere, although the place was busy. I couldn't have appreciated the distance between the tables more. The service was friendly, the pint came with a smile. Will visit soon again.
This is a top place to go for a happy drink and bite to eat in Stoke Newington. It's been going for ages and is nicely located on the end of Church (or at least the end of the bit anyone considers to be Church Street). It's always full of friendly faces and you don't get trouble in here. Their music is always kept at a very low level so it's the kind of place you go to for a chat rather than a party. I had the cheese plate and the mixed meats platter when I was there last night and thought they'd be tiny portions hence I ordered both. Not so! Two platters piled high with yummy treats - so impressive the table next to us actually questioned us on whether that was just the standard. I think they were jealous! Although they'd all ordered meals which looked delicious too. Good glass of red, very friendly staff. Not the place to go for a boogie, but if you like happy people, good food and drink and a nice vibe then Rose and Crown is the place to be.
not the cheapest place to drink in stokey, but more than makes up with lovely atmosphere, dog freindly, big warm fire and comfy if not odd array of chairs! can be tricky to find seating on weekends but have always found customers very willing to suffle around and make sure everyone gets a space. and when you do get a seat can watch down church street through great curved window, food looks and smells great and i look forward to trying it on next visit, and the meat platter is great to nibble at with freinds.
Great local filled with friendly faces and great staff. The clientele is a little older than lots of places but that's a good thing - they're good stokey residents and you get a real sense of the area in here. Lovely cosy feel to the place. You have to give this place a go.
This is a lovely Stokey pub. The curved room makes it feel smaller than it is, and the big arm chairs and log fire in winter make it really cosy. It gets really packed on Friday nights but other than that it is quite a chilled place. Red wine is served in lovely big glasses and both house wines are surprisingly nice!
